In the BBC typing there are three stages which are included in the level 1 and there are three levels. BBC Mat Typing -Stage 1 is the first step of dance mat typing
Stage one:
In the first stage a learner will learn how to type the letters which are there in the home row. After the completion of each stag, the level of progress is been monitored by the learners. With the use of the guidelines which is provided the letters in the keyboard can be keyed. BBC creates ways that are possible to maintain accuracy at the time of creating different words using the dance mat typing.

Fingering:
In this stage we will learn about the letters a, s, d, f g, h, j, k, l and semi colon. The letter a, s, d, f, g is typed using the left hand while the other letters j, k, l, ; is typed using the right hand. The letters f, g, h, j are typed using the pointer finger. The letters a and semi colon are keyed using the pinky finger, the letters s and l are keyed using the ring finger and the middle finger is used to key d and k.
